This Sunday morning the Rev Robert West will be taking us through Hebrews 2: 9 in which the writer tells us that Christ by the grace of God tasted death for every man, whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free, male or female (Gal 3: 28).  
Though Christ redeemed us by Himself (Hebrews 1:3) He did it by the eternal Spirit (Hebrews 9:14).  
There is no good reason why anyone should taste eternal death for themselves.  Hebrews 2: 9 is compared with Zechariah 13 in the Old Testament and with Luke's gospel chapter 22: 39-53.  
The Rev West, in his sermon, criticises the New International Version for getting some translating very seriously wrong and for being based on corrupt manuscripts.  Churches must look into this and try a better version, he suggests.
